About Me

Hi there! I’m Rachel Sandberg, the owner of One Sweet World Travel Company. I live with my husband, our son (who’s about to turn 18), and our two cats. My love for travel started in college, and since then, I’ve explored amazing places like Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Europe, NYC, and California. I’m so grateful to have a career that lets me keep chasing that wanderlust.

When I’m not planning adventures, you can find me hiking, relaxing on the beach, or diving into a good book. I’m also a huge foodie and love discovering top-notch restaurants, especially Michelin-starred ones. The show Top Chef is a favorite of mine—not just for the inventive dishes they create but also for the chance to see the diverse cities where it is filmed.

Favorite Destinations of the Moment

It is impossible to pick just one favorite. So here are two of my top destinations.

BAVARIA REGION, GERMANY - The first would be my family's trip last summer to Bavaria, Germany. My family and I stayed at the luxurious resort, Schloss Elmau, in the Bavarian Alps, just two hours south of Munich. We spent our days exploring breathtaking castles, hiking through stunning mountain gorges, and biking past crystal-clear lakes. We also made sure to relax and soak in the incredible mountain views from the resort’s heavenly pools. The region’s natural beauty, rich culture, delicious food, and endless outdoor activities left us utterly amazed. Below are some pics of the resort and Neuschwanstein Castle which is nearby.

CAYO LEVANTADO, DR - My second favorite destination is the secluded island resort of Cayo Levantado off the coast of the Dominican Republic. Just a short boat ride from the mainland, this all-inclusive luxury wellness retreat feels like a world away. With its innovative wellness concept, I enjoyed sound healing, yoga, and world-class spa treatments, all while savoring meals at top-notch restaurants. Each room comes with a private ambassador dedicated to making your stay exceptional. The island paradise boasts amazing food, drinks, stunning views, and outstanding service. It was an experience I will never forget.
